Suzanne Fox has 30 years of experience with China. She has worked with educators on both sides of the globe in building meaningful international programs and school relationships. She is a leader in New England-China educational exchange and is respected across the region for her thoughtful programs and critical insights into Sino-US educational exchange. Her work focuses primarily on building bridges between educators in New England and China and ensuring that these relationships are nurtured and maintained. She currently has over 30 sister school relationships set up across New England ranging from elementary school programs to institutions of higher education. She has a proven track record of success. In 2009, Ms. Fox was awarded the Maine Biz NEXT Award for her pioneering work in building bridges between Maine and China. Suzanne spent many years working in New York at the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), coordinating their East Asia study programs. She has taught East Asian History at De Anza College in California, Cross-cultural Communications at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and has held teaching positions at Fudan University in Shanghai and the Northern Transportation University in Beijing. She holds a Masters Degree in Chinese Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, a B.A. in Chinese Area Studies from Bowdoin College and studied Mandarin at Beijing Normal University. In addition to being a respected educator, she is a mother of three of her own children and having navigated getting her two sons into Stanford University—she has dealt with the US college and high school admissions process first-hand. She frequently conducts workshops on both sides of the globe for educators, students and parents.
